Arm China is searching for Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to support its key Tier 1 Partners. You will be part of an engaging team and get an opportunity to grow with the company. In this role, we are seeking someone who has both SoC Design experience and technical account leadership skills. You will be responsible for providing pre-sales technical support to drive new licensing and design-in opportunities and involved in post-sales support activities to enable partner success.
Beyond the technical qualifications, it is also meaningful that you develop sound professional relationships with the key engineers and decision makers within your Partner accounts and that you develop, report, and execute on account strategies sought by growing Arm China’s business within these Partners.
You will participate in defining new products or services to meet the needs of Arm China customers and to maintain a high standard of technical knowledge about Arm China, its products, services, and competitors.
What will I be accountable for:
- Work with Partner manager and take technical ownership of the sales process.
- Identify licensing and design win opportunities and proliferate licensed IP at the Partner.
- Identify technology trends and be the trusted technical adviser to the partner.
- Work closely with the sales team to develop winning account strategies.
- Present and demonstrate technical details of products and services to customers. These include: Processor IP (including CPUs, GPUs, platforms, debug & trace IP); Fabric IP (including bus, systems IP and cache controllers) and configuration/delivery tools; NPU/VPU/Security (including hardware and software aspects)
- Provide technical support in pre-sales opportunities and involved in the post-sales support activities.
- Provide appropriate product recommendations to meet customer requirements.
- Provide system design expertise and first pass architectural planning for products in early design stages.
Critical Success Factors
- Full understanding of customer business and technical development plans.
- Sound personal relationships with key technical decision-makers at Partner accounts and a good understanding of commercial relationships.
- Proven understanding of Arm products and services.
- Development of positive relationships with assigned Partner managers, as well as Marketing, Engineering, and Applications Engineering teams.
What Skills, experience, & qualifications do I need:
- At least 5+ years of experience in digital design, software engineering, or applications engineering.
- BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven understanding of microprocessors, SoC design, operating systems, systems software, HW/SW design process including relevant tools, boards and systems IP.
- Strong understanding of SoC design for target vertical markets (Eg. Mobile, Automotive, Infra, IoT, etc.)
- Understanding of Arm Cores, graphics processors, software tools, system IP, NPU, VPU Security is a plus.
Commercial Skills:
- Multifaceted, self-starting individual with the ability to excite and instill confidence in customers about Arm technology.
- Good presentation skills, able to clearly express technical concepts.
- Track record of successful customer engagements.
- Previous experience in a sales or marketing role is a plus.
- FAE or customer interaction experience is a plus.
- Strong desire to grow sales and win business.

- Self-motivated, diligent, and timely.

- Willing to travel domestically approximately 25% of time. Infrequent travel to the UK also required.
