I. Job Overview
The Director of Product Management is a pivotal leadership role responsible for executing the company's product strategy, managing the product lifecycle, and overseeing product team operations. This position entails leading product planning, defining product roadmaps, optimizing product performance, and managing cross-functional product collaboration.
The incumbent must possess a deep understanding of market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape within the industry. They will lead the product team in developing products that are both commercially valuable and highly competitive in the market, thereby driving product growth, enhancing user experience, and fostering overall business expansion.
The Director of Product Management will collaborate closely with the R&D, Design, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations teams to ensure the effective implementation of the product strategy, while continuously driving product innovation and digital transformation.
II. Core Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy Execution & Roadmap Management
Assist in formulating and executing the company's product strategy and vision.
Develop product roadmaps and version release plans.
Analyze market trends, the competitive landscape, and customer needs.
Ensure product direction remains aligned with the company's business objectives.
Drive product innovation and feature optimization.
2. Product Lifecycle Management
Manage the entire product lifecycle, from requirements analysis to launch and delivery.
Oversee product release, upgrade, optimization, and end-of-life processes.
Drive continuous product iteration and enhance market competitiveness.
Ensure product delivery quality and adherence to user experience standards.
Enhance the product's commercialization and scalability capabilities.
3. User Needs & Market Research
Conduct in-depth research into customer needs and user behavioral data.
Establish a "Voice of the Customer" (VoC) feedback mechanism.
Collect and analyze market and industry trends.
Identify product growth opportunities and untapped market segments.
Improve Product-Market Fit.
4. Product Requirements Management & Prioritization
Author Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and business requirements specifications.
Manage the product requirements backlog and prioritize requirements.
Balance business objectives, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
Facilitate requirements reviews and cross-functional collaboration mechanisms.
Ensure high-quality product delivery on schedule.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Product Delivery
Coordinate collaboration among R&D, Design, Testing, Marketing, and Sales teams.
Drive the efficient execution of product development, testing, and launch processes.
Establish communication and feedback channels for product requirements.
Enhance product delivery efficiency and organizational collaboration capabilities.
Ensure alignment between product goals and overall business objectives.
6. Product Commercialization & Go-To-Market (GTM)
Support the formulation and execution of Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies.
Assist with product pricing, packaging, and business model design.
Support Sales and Marketing teams in product promotion activities.
Drive product revenue growth and market expansion.
Enhance the product's brand influence and customer recognition.
7. Product Data Analysis & Operational Optimization
Establish product KPIs and a data analytics framework.
Analyze product usage rates, user engagement levels, and customer retention rates.
Monitor product conversion rates, revenue, and overall business performance.
Generate product operational analysis reports and optimization recommendations.
Drive the implementation of data-driven product operational mechanisms.
8. Product Process Optimization and Agile Management
Drive the implementation of product development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum
Optimize product R&D processes and cross-functional collaboration mechanisms
Enhance product development efficiency and delivery quality
Establish mechanisms for product retrospectives and continuous improvement
Champion organizational agility and foster a culture of product innovation
III. Job Qualifications
Educational Background
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
MBA preferred
Work Experience
20+ years of experience in Product Management
10+ years of experience in Product Team Management
Experience in the SaaS, Internet, AI, or Enterprise Software sectors is preferred
Proficiency in Product Lifecycle Management and Agile development processes
Experience in product commercialization and growth management is preferred
