Role: Graphic Designer

Location: chindatripet chennai

The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating high-quality visual designs for print and digital media, with a primary focus on book layout, page formatting, signage design, and marketing collaterals. The role demands strong expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, along with a thorough understanding of print production standards. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented creative professional with excellent typographic skills and the ability to manage multiple design projects under tight deadlines.

• Key Responsibilities

1.1 Book and Publication Design

• Design and layout books, magazines, catalogues, and other publishing materials with high attention to typography, grid systems, and page formatting
• Ensure consistent styling across multi-page documents including headers, footers, pagination, and chapter formatting
• Collaborate with authors, editors, and the production team to incorporate content revisions and maintain design integrity
• Prepare final print-ready files with proper pagination, bleed, crop marks, and colour profiles

1.2 Print Production and Pre-Press

• Prepare files for printing with proper CMYK colour coding, resolution settings, and pre-press requirements
• Conduct colour proofing and quality checks before final print submission
• Coordinate with printing vendors to ensure accurate reproduction of designs
• Maintain knowledge of various paper stocks, finishing techniques, and binding methods

1.3 Signage and Visual Communication

• Create signage designs for indoor and outdoor installations, flex banners, hoardings, and display boards
• Design marketing collaterals including brochures, flyers, business cards, and promotional materials
• Ensure all visual communication materials align with client branding guidelines and quality standards
• Adapt designs for various formats and sizes while maintaining visual consistency

1.4 Colour Management and Quality Assurance

• Apply accurate colour management practices across all design outputs to ensure print fidelity
• Maintain and calibrate colour profiles for monitors and output devices
• Review and approve design proofs before final production runs
• Document and enforce design standards and templates for recurring project types

1.5 Project Management and Collaboration

• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously and deliver within agreed timelines
• Communicate design concepts and rationale effectively to clients and internal stakeholders
• Maintain organised design files, asset libraries, and version control systems
• Stay updated with current design trends, tools, and techniques in the print and signage industry
• Required Skills
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Strong knowledge of print design standards, including CMYK colour modes, bleed, trim, and resolution requirements
• Experience in book and page layout design with a keen eye for typography and visual balance
• Expertise in signage design for various formats including flex, vinyl, and digital displays
• Creative mindset with strong attention to detail and design consistency
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with clients and internal teams
• Basic understanding of colour calibration and proofing workflows

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience in book publishing, magazine layout, or editorial design
• Familiarity with digital printing and offset printing workflows
• Exposure to branding projects and corporate identity design
• Experience working with large-format signage and exhibition graphics
• Knowledge of basic motion graphics or video editing is an added advantage
• Regional language proficiency for local client communication (Tamil preferred for Chennai-based role)
