Join Our Team as a Buyer!

Valiant TMS, a global industry leader, is seeking a Buyer to join our Corporate Purchasing Group. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career procurement professional looking to build their experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. In this role, you will support sourcing activities and work closely with suppliers and internal teams to help ensure materials, equipment, and services are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

What You’ll Get To Do

  • Support the purchasing of materials, equipment, and services while balancing quality, cost, and delivery requirements
  • Assist with sourcing activities, including obtaining and comparing supplier quotes
  • Help analyze pricing and support the team in making sound purchasing decisions
  • Participate in identifying cost-saving opportunities and support implementation efforts
  • Follow up on purchase orders and assist with expediting to ensure timely delivery
  • Maintain and update supplier and pricing information in internal systems
  • Build positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Support supplier audits, visits, and evaluations as needed
  • Assist in ensuring warranties and documentation are obtained for purchased items
  • Provide support to Proposal and Estimating teams with purchasing-related information
  • Support commercial components purchasing, inventory activities including preparing kits, reviewing Bill Of Materials (BOM) and engineering drawings, and consolidating materials to suppliers for assembly

What We Are Looking For

  • Education: Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in procurement, engineering or a related role is considered an asset
  • Strong interest in procurement and supply chain operations
  • Basic negotiation and analytical skills, with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/SAP experience is an asset but not required
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based, cross-functional environment
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow within the role
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Travel to the USA may be required.

The expected annual compensation for this position is $50,000 – $52,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, or location. This posting is for an existing vacancy. Valiant TMS does not require Canadian work experience and does not use artificial intelligence (AI) to screen or assess applicants.
