What You’ll Get To Do
- Support the purchasing of materials, equipment, and services while balancing quality, cost, and delivery requirements
- Assist with sourcing activities, including obtaining and comparing supplier quotes
- Help analyze pricing and support the team in making sound purchasing decisions
- Participate in identifying cost-saving opportunities and support implementation efforts
- Follow up on purchase orders and assist with expediting to ensure timely delivery
- Maintain and update supplier and pricing information in internal systems
- Build positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Support supplier audits, visits, and evaluations as needed
- Assist in ensuring warranties and documentation are obtained for purchased items
- Provide support to Proposal and Estimating teams with purchasing-related information
- Support commercial components purchasing, inventory activities including preparing kits, reviewing Bill Of Materials (BOM) and engineering drawings, and consolidating materials to suppliers for assembly
- Education: Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in procurement, engineering or a related role is considered an asset
- Strong interest in procurement and supply chain operations
- Basic negotiation and analytical skills, with a willingness to learn and develop
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/SAP experience is an asset but not required
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based, cross-functional environment
- Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow within the role
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Travel to the USA may be required.
