The Japanese-Speaking Annotation & Software Tester is responsible for executing annotation tasks and conducting comprehensive testing across product features to ensure quality and usability for Japanese users. This role focuses on validating in-product language accuracy, user experience, and functionality within Zoom.The role acts as a coordination point between internal teams and stakeholders, ensuring that product outputs meet quality standards while identifying and flagging any linguistic or functional issues.

Annotation & Quality Validation
- Perform annotation tasks following defined guidelines and quality standards.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across annotated datasets.
- Conduct quality checks and flag inconsistencies or unclear outputs.
- Document findings and feedback to improve overall data quality.
Software Testing (Core Responsibility)
- Perform functional, linguistic, and user experience testing across features within Zoom.
- Validate that Japanese language content is accurate, natural, and contextually appropriate within the product.
- Identify and report translation or localization issues (e.g., unnatural phrasing, incorrect tone, cultural mismatch) when encountered during testing.
- Execute test cases, regression testing, and exploratory testing across different scenarios.
- Log bugs and issues clearly with proper documentation and reproduction steps.
- Collaborate with QA, product, and engineering teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Ensure a seamless and high-quality experience for Japanese-speaking users.
Project Coordination
- Track tasks, timelines, and deliverables using standard tools.
- Communicate progress, risks, and blockers to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather context for testing and validation.
- Maintain organized documentation of testing results and issues.
Process Improvement & Market Insight
- Identify gaps in workflows and suggest improvements.
- Provide insights on Japanese language usage, tone, and cultural expectations where relevant to product experience.
- Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during testing cycles.
- Native Japanese speaker with strong, accurate understanding of Japanese culture, communication style, and user expectations.
- Strong command of English for communication and reporting.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in software testing, QA, annotation, localization, or related operational roles.
- Experience in software testing, QA, or annotation-related work is preferred.
- Ability to identify unnatural or incorrect Japanese usage in a product context.
- Basic understanding of testing concepts (test cases, bug tracking, regression testing).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
