OVERVIEW The Human Resources Generalist is in charge of the Human Resources department’s daily operations. The Human Resources Generalist conducts all Human Resources matters (all processes in the employee life cycle) with more autonomy and efficiency than the HR Administrator. In some locations the Human Resources Generalist may also be responsible for benefits administration and payroll. This position ensures compliance with local laws and internal policies and procedures. Is able to handle more complex processes and be involved in employee relations cases. Is expected to propose improvements to internal procedures and to handle more than one location. DESCRIPTION Responsible for a range of activities, from transactional to support of large projects within different locations / countries / regions Independently handle various processes in the employee life cycle (on-boarding, off-boarding, changes, promotions, parental leaves and other leaves, etc.) ensuring all information and required supporting documentation is on file and is submitted to payroll on a timely manner Manage relocation and transfer processes including visa applications where applicable, payroll transfers, etc. Have a good understanding and practical knowledge of Company processes and policies High level of autonomy when answering queries from employees and managers Administer different benefit plans in compliance with local regulations and Company procedures and policies Apply compliance knowledge to protect the Company from possible liabilities / risks Maintain compliance with the assigned countries’ regulations concerning all aspects of employment (vacation, overtime pay, employee benefit eligibility, health & safety due process, payroll processed, etc.) to protect the Company from possible liabilities / risks Assist with the localization and implementation of personnel policies and procedures in all the necessary regions Proactively work with local legal advisors when necessary to obtain any necessary guidance required for the company’s operations With support of the Employee Relations Team or other senior colleagues, process employee relations issues, ensuring procedures are properly followed and paperwork completed and filed. This could involve lead meetings and taking notes. Support more senior members in preparation for HR Audits and Labor Inspections, as required Support more senior members in Compliance Projects and preparation of meetings with Workers’ Representatives (where applicable) Assist with creating and / or editing contracts and handbooks ensuring content accuracy and submit for final review Support the implementation of training initiatives and performance evaluation programs Train and motivate more junior members of the HR team. May also manage other HR team members Collaborate with the global HR team to ensure HR department goals are met Generic/Common HR tasks: Prepare various documents (agreements, addendums, reference letters, etc.) Keep soft and hard employee files up-to-date Ensure employee data are kept updated on the HRIS (i.e. Workday) and produce relevant reports Educate managers and employees with HRIS (i.e. Workday) usage Provide support and assistance in international HR projects Perform HR administration and operational support to the HR Departments in different locations Complete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role and assigned by the manager / supervisor REQUIRED SKILLS:- Good knowledge of MS Office (specifically Excel) Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish [change as needed] (written and verbal) Ability to maintain professionalism in all situations Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner Attention to detail and problem-solving competencies Ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries Positive attitude, resiliency, and the ability to produce high quality and volume at a fast pace Maintain flexibility to take on additional responsibilities, as needed Excellent knowledge with a HRIS (Workday) Analytical skills Critical thinking skills and ability to learn new skills quickly Good understanding of employment regulations in at least 1 country Innovative, proactive, and resourceful; committed to quality and continuous improvement Ability to build strong relationships with employees and managers at all levels of the organization
