Role:Disability Support Leader – National After Hours Service

Employment Type:Permanent Part Time (x3)

Location: Completely flexible, as this is a work from home opportunity!

Pay Rate: From $44.58 per hour + penalties (SCHADS level 4)

In these newly created roles within our National After Hours Service, you will provide leadership specialist advice and practical guidance outside of standard business hours to Life Without Barriers employees and clients supported through our disability and mental health services

You will partner with clients, employees, government agencies and other stakeholders to respond to emergent issues that cannot wait until the next business day. You will provide clear direction and guidance that is informed by client plans, assessments and established practice frameworks to ensure safety wellbeing and person centred support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Life Without Barriers clients and employees, government agencies, and stakeholders to address emergent issues using a person-centred approach while meeting legislative and care standards.
  • Provide direction and advice informed by client plans and assessments to support the safety and wellbeing of clients and staff.
  • Respond to after-hours enquiries professionally and efficiently, applying key practice models including Active Support and the Behaviour Support Framework.
  • Apply organisational policies, procedures, and legislative requirements when managing emergent and critical after-hours matters.
  • Maintain accurate records, including call logs, incident reports, assessments, plans, and file notes within relevant databases.
  • Model positive communication, conflict resolution, and appropriate behaviour when supporting staff and clients.
  • Oversee a team of rostering officers
  • Coordinate adjustments to client support schedules and routines in line with approved funding, including management of urgent shift coverage needs.

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma in relevant Social & Community Services qualification or relevant demonstrated experience.
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a leadership/management role in a human services organisation (ideally those supporting people with disability).
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory environment for areas of business responsibility.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise guidance and advice to customer queries, drawing upon established policies, procedures and other resources.
  • Strong written and computer skills for the creation of plans, programs, reports, correspondence, and other documents.
  • Established problem-solving and conflict management skills.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and any relevant stated based checks.
