Senior Product & Business Systems Analyst – Investment Platforms

We’re looking for a versatile product-minded analyst with deep experience in investment management to help shape and evolve core platforms across public and private markets. This role blends business analysis, product ownership, and data collaboration, supporting initiatives that span performance analytics, investment operations, and private markets workflows. Candidates may come from either public markets (performance/attribution) or private markets (private equity/credit, fund accounting) — both backgrounds are welcome.

What You’ll Do

Business & Domain Analysis

• Partner with investment, operations, accounting, and technology teams to understand complex front‑to‑back workflows across public and private market investment processes.
• Lead requirements discovery sessions and translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
• Map current‑state and future‑state processes, identifying gaps, data dependencies, and opportunities for optimization.
• Serve as a subject‑matter partner in one or more areas:
• Public Markets: performance measurement, attribution, benchmark data, portfolio analytics
• Private Markets: capital activity, valuations, fund accounting, private credit/PE lifecycle events

Product Ownership & Delivery

• Own and refine the product backlog, ensuring stories are well‑defined, estimated, and aligned with roadmap priorities.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies, coordinate cross‑functional delivery, and maintain transparency around progress, risks, and dependencies.
• Support product discovery, feature definition, and iterative delivery across data, engineering, and analytics teams.
• Contribute to roadmap planning and help shape platform evolution across investment, accounting, and data domains.

Data, Systems, & Technical Collaboration

• Write and maintain SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, and investigative analysis across portfolios, benchmarks, transactions, and reference data.
• Partner with data engineering teams on data mapping, lineage, and integration across upstream and downstream systems.
• Support BI and reporting needs through dashboards or analytical views.
• Champion the use of AI‑augmented practices for requirements, testing, documentation, and delivery acceleration.

What You Bring

• 5–8+ years in a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, Product Owner, or Product Manager role within investment management or financial services.
• Strong understanding of investment operations, trade lifecycle, and data flows across front/middle/back office.
• Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following:
• Performance & Attribution: TWR/MWR, benchmark construction, attribution methodologies
• Private Markets: private equity/credit workflows, fund accounting, capital calls/distributions, valuations
• Solid SQL skills for analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with data platforms, reference data, and system integrations.
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Comfort operating in agile environments with cross‑functional engineering and data teams.
• Curiosity, ownership, and a forward‑looking mindset toward AI and automation in the SDLC.

Nice to Have

• Experience with BI tools (Power BI or similar).
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks, Synapse, etc.).
• Exposure to portfolio management, accounting, or investment data platforms.
• Relevant certifications (CFA, CIPM, CAIA) or progress toward them.
