Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Understands basic principles of supplier lead time, inventory days on hand, demand variability and forecasting, and minimum order quantities for best price
- Reviews current work practices and looks for opportunities to streamline and more effectively manage process
- Develops a thorough working knowledge of assigned items and associated supplier base as well as working knowledge of required MRP / ERP system
- Creates purchase orders in ERP system and communicates to suppliers
- Interacts with suppliers to manage portfolio including forecast, ordering, and expediting of material.
- Analyzes item level sales history and forecast to inform purchasing decisions
- Monitors and reports key performance metrics, including purchase price variance, inventory, shortages, and supplier performance
- Interacts with Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Operations teams to manage inventory position and load scheduling
- Participates and practices BRC rules and regulations.

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related business field
- 2+ years of experience with forecasting, replenishment, and purchasing
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to focus on the details
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with personnel at all levels within the organization to obtain, discuss, and analyze information and process
- Strong interpersonal and exceptional problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced skills in the use of MS Excel (pivot tables, formula writing)
- Ability to understand, develop and refine processes
- Ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with ERP Systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics
- Willingness and ability to travel 25%
