About the Team
The Strategic Readiness team plays a critical role in ensuring that TikTok Shop's fast-growing commerce business can expand responsibly and sustainably across Europe.
We focus on helping the business meet ambitious growth goals while maintaining strong control over regulatory and operational risks.
Through data-driven analysis, market research, and close cross-functional collaboration, we identify emerging risks, assess their potential impact, and design actionable strategies to mitigate them. Our goal is to ensure that TikTok Shop operates with both compliance and agility, enabling the business to scale confidently in an evolving digital and policy environment.
- Conduct comprehensive policy and market research on the e-commerce and digital economy sectors across Europe.
- Identify and assess emerging risks relevant to TikTok Shop's business model.
- Translate policy and market insights into actionable recommendations for business, product, and operations teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Legal, Public Policy, Comms, Product, and Operations) to develop localized business strategies and ensure regulatory alignment.
- Track external developments such as government consultations, regulatory investigations, and industry trends to inform business strategy.
- Support internal and external stakeholder communication through reports, dashboards, and executive briefings.
- Build and maintain partnerships with relevant associations, think tanks, or research institutions when needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification(s)
- Bachelor's degree or above in Public Policy, Law, Economics, International Relations, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in policy analysis, regulatory affairs, consulting, or e-commerce / internet-related business.
- Good understanding of e-commerce operations / digital platforms, and industry trends.
- Working knowledge of the policy and regulatory environments in key European markets (Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and/or Nordics).
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear insights, be comfortable using quantitative and qualitative data for analysis and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional working proficiency in one of the following languages: French, German, Spanish to communicate directly with government authorities and regulatory agencies in on of the respective markets as part of the role's operational responsibilities.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and cross-cultural environment.
Preferred Qualification(s)
- Familiarity with EU e-commerce, consumer protection, or digital platform regulation (e.g., DSA, DMA).
- Experience in policy, legal, or compliance roles within multinational internet or tech companies.
- Background in strategy, research, or consulting with exposure to government affairs or risk management.
