Sitting within Global Communications, we work at the intersection of business growth and social good, partnering with teams across the company to create meaningful, measurable impact in the communities where Airwallex operates. The team is early-stage and globally distributed, offering the opportunity to shape a function from the ground up while leveraging the infrastructure of an 11B+ fintech platform.

What you'll do

As Senior Manager, Social Impact, you will play a central role in building and scaling Airwallex's social impact strategy globally. You will cultivate external partnerships, identify high-impact opportunities, and bridge the gap between commercial objectives and social good across a company that operates in 20+ markets. This is a role for someone who thrives at the intersection of corporate strategy and impact, someone who can independently launch initiatives in new markets while coordinating a global approach with internal stakeholders across Communications, Marketing, People & Talent, Product, and Finance. This hybrid role is based in San Francisco, CA Responsibilities: Contribute to the development and execution of Airwallex's social impact strategy, aligning initiatives with business objectives and the company's Operating Principles.   Cultivate a robust external network globally in relevant areas and source high-impact opportunities for Airwallex to consider pursuing.   Design and manage social impact programs spanning employee engagement, community grants, nonprofit partnerships, and customer-facing initiatives, ensuring global coverage across Airwallex's offices and markets.     Define impact metrics, evaluation methods, and reporting processes; present progress and outcomes to senior leadership and external stakeholders.     Partner cross-functionally with Communications, Marketing, People & Talent, Product, and Commercial teams to embed social impact into company culture and business operations.   Represent Airwallex externally in social impact forums, industry partnerships, and community engagements, building the company's reputation as a responsible and innovative fintech leader.   Who you are We're looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory. Minimum qualifications: 5+ years of experience in social impact, CSR, sustainability, community engagement, or a related field, ideally within fintech, technology, or financial services environments. Experience and comfort in both corporate/commercial and impact contexts and able to bridge the two (e.g., those who have worked at the intersection of corporate x impact, or business x government).   Track record of delivering outsized results and high level of ownership.   Experience and comfort operating globally, including independently working in and launching new markets.   Demonstrated ability to develop and execute social impact strategy, including program design, stakeholder engagement, governance, and measurement.     Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, including with senior executives, board members, external partners, and nonprofit/government audiences.     Preferred qualifications: Experience building or scaling a social impact function from early stage (zero to one), including setting strategy, standing up programs, and growing a team.   Familiarity with impact measurement and reporting frameworks (e.g., ESG reporting, double materiality assessments, or equivalent).     Comfort operating in environments with high standards, fast iteration cycles, and evolving priorities.   Curiosity to learn quickly, adapt fast, and grow through stretch opportunities, with an entrepreneurial mindset and bias toward action.   Applicant Safety Policy: Fraud and Third-Party Recruiters To protect you from recruitment scams, please be aware that Airwallex will not ask for bank details, sensitive ID numbers (i.e. passport), or any form of payment during the application or interview process.
