ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare monthly financial statements based on data compiled from core systems and other internal sources
- Maintain and update financial reporting files, supporting schedules and reporting templates to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Support the month-end close by ensuring timely data collection, validation and reporting
- Play a key role in the development and enhancement of financial reporting systems, including building and updating reporting structures and participating in system implementation, testing and validation
- Perform daily reconciliation of the Bank’s correspondent accounts. Work with internal partners and external sources to identify, research and resolve outstanding items timely
- Prepare and submit adjustment entries to correspondent banks to facilitate the timely resolution of outstanding items
- Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring balances are properly supported and reconciling items are promptly identified and resolved
- Record general ledger entries as needed, ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation
- Provide back-up support for daily reconciliation of the Bank’s Federal Reserve Account
- Support the Accounting Manager with projects, process improvements and other assigned initiatives, as needed
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within financial services or other regulated industry
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong technical and systems skills including the ability to build and maintain financial reports
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, particularly in a month-end close environment
- Demonstrated advanced capability in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications
- High level of attention to detail with effective written and verbal communication skills
