Director of Sales, Americas

Wire Belt Company of America is seeking a strategic, results-oriented Director of Sales, Americas to lead regional sales growth, strengthen customer relationships, and expand market presence across the Americas. Based at our corporate headquarters in Bedford, New Hampshire, this leadership role reports to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and requires approximately 50% travel.


About the Role

The Director of Sales, Americas is a highly visible commercial leadership role with responsibility for driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and building long-term customer value across the region. This individual will lead a hybrid sales organization that includes direct sales professionals and independent manufacturer’s representative firms, ensuring strong alignment, disciplined execution, and a consistently high standard of customer engagement.

Wire Belt Company of America manufactures stainless steel wire conveyor belting and conveyor systems for the food processing industry and other industrial sectors. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, partnering across sales, marketing, engineering, operations, and customer service to deliver growth while developing talent and strengthening channel performance.


Key Responsibilities


Lead Regional Sales Strategy
  • Partner closely with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing to develop and execute the Americas sales strategy in alignment with corporate goals and market opportunities.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of seven direct sales professionals, fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture.
  • Manage and optimize relationships with independent manufacturer’s representative firms to ensure alignment, accountability, and consistent market coverage.
  • Establish annual sales targets, forecasts, and budgets, and adjust plans as needed based on business performance.
  • Identify new market opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive threats to inform strategic decision-making.


Grow Customer and Market Relationships
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, OEMs, distributors, and industry partners.
  • Support major account negotiations, pricing strategies, and long-term commercial agreements.
  • Drive customer engagement initiatives, including site visits, product demonstrations, and participation in industry events.
  • Ensure the voice of the customer informs product development, service offerings, and strategic planning.


Drive Commercial Execution
  • Implement clear sales processes, KPIs, metrics, and reporting systems that promote visibility, accountability, and performance across the hybrid sales organization.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, engineering, operations, and customer service to ensure seamless execution and high customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee CRM adoption and data integrity to support pipeline management, close rates, forecasting, and performance analytics.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing on promotional strategies, product positioning, and go-to-market initiatives.


Develop Talent and Culture
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop top sales talent across both direct and representative organizations.
  • Conduct regular performance coaching, reviews, and field engagement to support continuous improvement.
  • Promote a culture of safety, integrity, collaboration, accountability, and customer focus.



What You Bring


Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • MBA or advanced business education preferred.


Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in sales and marketing leadership roles.
  • At least 4-6 years of experience leading both direct and indirect sales teams.
  • Proven success selling industrial equipment, consumables, or capital goods; experience in food processing or related industries is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead hybrid sales organizations and manage independent representative firms.
  • Strong background in strategic planning, forecasting, and sales process optimization.


Skills and Leadership Profile
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, including forecasting and P&L awareness.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • A high degree of initiative, accountability, and customer focus.
  • The ability to travel approximately 50% across North America.
