Reports to: Director of Land Acquisition
Status: Full Time / Exempt, Salaried
Job Summary:
The Land Acquisition Analyst will work within a strategic analytics team under the supervision of the Director of Land Acquisition to produce actionable research and best-in-class underwriting support for Academy Development. The Acquisition Analyst will be responsible for conducting market research, underwriting land and lot acquisition opportunities, preparing investment presentations, and maintaining databases and file archives in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct ongoing market research initiatives that inform the operational strategy for Academy’s future market positioning.
- Perform underwriting analysis for prospective deals with speed and accuracy, supporting the Land Acquisition team’s ability to quickly make informed decisions.
- Participate in the creation, refinement, and implementation of industry leading analytical tools and develop processes for best practices.
- Prepare Land Books for proposed acquisition deals that summarize the merits and risks, and investment thesis to be reviewed by the Land Committee for approval.
- Assist Land Acquisition team members in seeking and securing new land deals.
- Perform tasks, as assigned by the Director of Land Acquisition.
- Excellent time management skills, detail-orientation and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to articulate needs and convey information verbally, in writing, and through infographics.
- Willingness to connect to troubleshoot problems and help teams collaborate, as necessary.

- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and GIS mapping.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred
- Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or working on a computer
- Periodic travel may be required
