Land Analyst

Company Description

The Surprise Valley Resources, LLC Land Analyst supports land operations by assisting with data entry, document organization, and lease and title workflows. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate records, supporting Landmen and project teams, and ensuring that land data and documentation are consistently updated and organized across internal and client-facing systems.

The Land Analyst serves as the first line of support within the land department, responsible for executing foundational tasks that support leasing, title, and administrative workflows.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Land Analyst role based in Houston, TX. As a foundational member of the land team, the Land Analyst provides day-to-day support to Landmen and project teams by maintaining and updating critical data, organizing lease and title documentation, and assisting in the progression of leasing, title, and administrative workflows. This role acts as the first line of operational support within the land department, helping to drive consistency, streamline processes, and ensure that both internal systems and client-facing materials remain accurate and up to date.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Energy, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred
• 1–3 years of experience in oil and gas, land, title, leasing, or a data-focused role
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy across large datasets and documentation
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
• Self-starter with a proactive mindset and a willingness to take ownership of responsibilities
• Comfortable working within internal systems and databases to track, update, and manage land information
• High level of professionalism, reliability, and accountability
