A mission-driven nonprofit organization in Houston is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their team. This role will support day-to-day HR operations and partner closely with leadership and employees across multiple HR functions including employee relations, compliance, recruiting, benefits administration, and HR operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being hands-on, supporting employees directly, and working in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support employee relations matters, investigations, and policy interpretation
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and new hire processes
• Maintain HRIS records and employee documentation
• Support benefits administration and compensation processes
• Ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and employment policies
• Conduct audits and maintain compliance documentation
• Coordinate training and employee development initiatives
• Partner with managers and employees on HR-related questions and guidance

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of HR experience
• Experience with employee relations and HR compliance
• HRIS experience required (ADP/WFN preferred)
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent HR experience preferred
• Spanish bilingual preferred, not required
• Nonprofit experience is a plus
