JMS Talent Acquisition is an established boutique legal recruiting and staffing firm partnering with law firms and professional services organizations across the country. For more than 25 years, we have specialized in placing legal support professionals and attorneys within Am Law, regional, and boutique firms, with a strong focus on relationship-driven recruiting and long-term partnership building.


We are seeking a Recruiting Associate to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly organized, personable, proactive, and interested in building a long-term career in recruiting, talent acquisition, or legal staffing.


This role will support the full recruiting lifecycle, including candidate sourcing, outreach, screening, interview coordination, resume preparation, candidate relationship management, and administrative support across active searches.


Responsibilities

  • Source and identify candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, networking, internal databases, and relationship building.
  • Conduct candidate outreach via phone, email, and initial screening conversations
  • Coordinate interviews and maintain communication with candidates throughout the hiring process
  • Prepare candidate resumes, write-ups, and submission materials for client presentation
  • Maintain accurate candidate and client records within internal systems and databases
  • Utilize applicant tracking systems and internal reporting tools to track productivity, recruiting activity, and pipeline metrics
  • Track interview feedback, candidate pipelines, and search activity
  • Assist with scheduling, reference coordination, and offer logistics
  • Support client needs across multiple practice areas and markets
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with candidates and clients
  • Assist with recruiting operations, administrative projects, and market research as needed


Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of recruiting/staffing experience required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, polished, and relationship-oriented communication style
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and a proactive, can-do attitude
  • Comfortable speaking with candidates and clients by phone, email, and video
  • Ability to work independently in a production-driven environment while collaborating closely with a small team
  • High level of accountability and the ability to work in a numbers-driven environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, LinkedIn, Bullhorn, and general database systems preferred

Compensation

Salary plus commission and production bonuses with uncapped earning potential.


Work Location

Ideally seeking someone who can work onsite three days per week in our Columbia office. However, we are open to fully remote candidates with exceptional qualifications and a proven track record of success.
