Your Role And Responsibilities
The Apptio Platform Product Management team works across a diverse set of global stakeholders, including customers, partners, engineering, sales, product marketing, and support. It provides a set of composable services that anchor the entire Apptio portfolio of products.
In this role, you will lead the vision and strategy for the entire platform. You will utilize your technical expertise and stakeholder management skills to balance priorities across internal product and engineering teams as well as external customers and partners, drive platform capabilities aligned with company goals, and consistently focus on demonstrating the value of investments in the platform.
What You'll Do
- Own and drive a strategic vision and roadmap for Apptio’s platform and translate it into clear tactical roadmap items that provide outcomes, e.g., overall platform data ingress/egress strategy, provisioning capabilities, metering, access management, integration with billing, PRM, and other back office systems, etc.
- Work across teams - Engineering, Sales, Support, and Marketing to gather feedback, refine strategy, and provide guidance to ensure feature adoption and success.
- Provide detailed product requirements that help the Platform Engineering team build the platform services that are leveraged by other Apptio products.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to support internal teams in understanding how to leverage and integrate the platform services into their product.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- 7+ years of Product Management experience in managing foundational platforms that help deliver Enterprise SaaS in a B2B environment
- Expertise in Enterprise Architecture frameworks that implement business functions like lead to order, quote to cash, and issue to resolution
- Exposure to having implemented and integrated PRM/CRM and ERP systems that help implement functions like configuration/quote, order management, provisioning, invoicing and billing, and master data management.
- Strong technical acumen and demonstrable experience with Cloud-based architectures and exposure to cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, IBM, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of subscription metering and billing for Enterprise SaaS and on-prem products leveraging subscription billing platforms like SAP BRIM, Zoura, Oracle EBS, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex ideas into clear, actionable communication
- Exceptional ability to bring clarity and structure to ambiguous, fast-moving situations
- Commensurate professional and technical experience
- Familiarity with Cloud Billing and Cost Optimization
