About Runner

Runner is an autonomous-AI product that operates online stores end-to-end on behalf of independent merchants. The agent manages the storefront, sets prices, allocates advertising budget, curates assortment, and handles replenishment. Merchants choose Runner because the business outcomes our system produces exceed what they would produce on their own.

Responsibilities

- Own the product roadmap for Runner's merchant-facing surface.

- Interview merchants weekly and turn what you hear into shipped features.

- Define and track the metrics that matter — activation, retention, agent task success, time-to-first-revenue.

- Write specs and decision documents that engineers can build from without follow-up meetings.

- Partner with the AI team to translate new agent capabilities into features merchants actually use.

- Decide what Runner does not build, and defend those decisions.

You may be a good fit if you have

- Three-plus years of product management experience, ideally at an early-stage startup as the first or second PM.

- A track record of shipping consumer or prosumer products that real users paid for.

- Strong written communication. You can turn a forty-five-minute customer call into a short brief the team actually reads.

- Day-to-day fluency working alongside engineers. You read pull requests, write tickets without hand-holding, and can mock something up in Figma or Claude Design yourself.

- Judgment about scope. You can ship a v1 in one week that solves eighty percent of the problem, and you know which eighty percent.

- A point of view on what good product feels like. You disagree, defend it, and update when you're wrong.

Strong candidates may also have

- An engineering or computer science background, with at least one year shipping production code.

- Daily, fluent use of agentic coding tools — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or equivalent. You build side projects with them and have opinions about which is best at what.

- Experience with e-commerce, Shopify, or small-business SaaS, especially selling into independent merchants.

- Prior founding or first-PM experience at an earlier-stage company.

- Experience at an AI-first company, or building the AI surface inside a non-AI product.
