Our retail client is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join their team. This role will serve as a key member of the payments organization, owning product initiatives across a complex ecosystem of in-store and outdoor payment devices. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in card-present payment integrations and help ensure compliance with evolving industry standards, regulations, and processor requirements.
Responsibilities
- Drive and manage the EMV device certification roadmap across multiple payment environments
- Understand, evaluate, and prioritize new requirements from card brands, payment processors, and regulatory bodies
- Serve as a subject matter expert on card-present payment requirements and industry standards
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across device, engineering, and payment teams to ensure successful implementation of payment solutions
- Act as Product Owner for a payment-focused Agile scrum team, managing backlog, priorities, and sprint execution
- Oversee integrations between POS systems and payment/gift card processors in card-present environments
- Ensure payment systems meet compliance, security, and performance requirements across a distributed retail footprint
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align product priorities with broader business goals
- Track progress against roadmap milestones and communicate updates to leadership and cross-functional teams
- Stay current on emerging payment technologies, trends, and regulatory changes
- Take on additional product and payments-related responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on payments or related systems
- Hands-on experience with card-present payment processing, either from a POS or payment processor perspective
- Experience managing payment integrations (e.g., POS to payment processor, gift card processor, etc.)
- Strong roadmapping, prioritization, and product ownership skills
- Experience working in Agile environments as a Product Owner (backlog management, sprint planning, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience working in retail environments preferred; exposure to fuel or convenience retail is a plus
- CSPO certification preferred
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment
