Property Advisory Services (PAS) is a specialist team within BB, providing technical property expertise to frontline teams to drive growth, manage risk, and deliver positive customer outcomes.
PAS is committed to process improvement, product innovation, and identifying opportunities across the valuation, construction, and broader property sectors. The team also manages the commercial, rural, and specialised panel of property consultants, ensuring delivery of market-leading valuation and advisory services.
This is a newly created role offering an exciting opportunity to drive growth and shape lending policy for construction funding across BB.

This role is wide reaching and not prescriptive in every sense. Discretion and sound judgment are critically important. Some of the key areas you will add value include:
- Technical Expertise & Risk Management
- Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Building
- Capability Development & Strategic Insights
- Lead the assessment and oversight of construction finance transactions from end to end.
- Build strong relationships with bankers, customers, QS firms, developers, and builders.
- Serve as a key SME liaison between bankers, risk teams, and property specialists on construction transactions.
- Engage early with deal teams to align on valuation, budget, and construction risk.
- Ensure construction deals meet internal risk and compliance standards.
- Review QS reports, payment schedules, and development budgets in line with business banking frameworks.
- Provide strategic insights to support internal policy development.
- Are passionate about innovation in the construction industry, to drive efficiency.
- Design and deliver training to enhance frontline skills in construction risk and QS report interpretation.
- Strong communication skills, confident engaging with stakeholders and explaining complex concepts in a clear, practical way.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capability, with strong report writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to translate complex construction, development or project information into clear commercial insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Property, Construction, Engineering, Project Management, Finance, or similar. Professional accreditation (e.g. AIQS, RICS or equivalent) is valued but not essential.
- Experience in advisory, consulting, project monitoring, development, or construction-related environments.
- Broad understanding of construction, development or infrastructure projects, including cost drivers, feasibility, delivery risks, and commercial structures.
- Familiarity with risk assessment frameworks and the ability to provide independent, structured advice to support investment or lending decisions.
- Experience working with financial stakeholders (e.g. banks, investors, or capital partners) or translating technical inputs into commercial recommendations is highly regarded.
