Operating within Student Welfare, the Counsellor provides a safe, supportive environment so ACU students can discuss concerns and develop the tools they need to build resilience and achieve their goals. The Counsellors are qualified, experienced Psychologists, Counsellors or Social Workers who work in an inclusive way to deliver free, confidential and accessible counselling, resources and referrals where required to university students who may be experiencing personal, mental health or general wellbeing concerns that are affecting their life or study. Experienced in student mental health matters this position will provide counselling and contribute to prevention initiatives and activities across the Student Welfare function nationally. Reporting to the National Manager, Safeguarding & Student Safety the role is supported by the Lead Counsellor with clinical supervision and works closely with the Counselling team, university stakeholders and external providers. ACU's Counselling service contributes to the overall mission and learning context of the university by raising awareness of and responding to the concerns of students.

• Total remuneration valued to $138,111 - $154,409 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $116,706 - $130,478 (pro rata) pa (HEW 8), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
• 17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
• Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.
