The agency is Headquartered in Portland, Oregon.

The Role

We are hiring a Digital Project Lead, Web Development to shepherd projects through our digital pipeline and serve as the senior technical resource for our developers. Our front-end and back-end developers do the primary development work; you're the person they bring questions to, the one who reviews tricky approaches, untangles blockers, and gets work across the finish line. You'll also pitch in on development directly when the team is at capacity and something needs to ship.

This role partners closely with our account team. Account managers own the client relationship — day-to-day communication, work coordination, scope conversations, and external partner relationships. You'll join client meetings as the technical voice in the room, translating between developer-speak and client-speak, scoping technical work in real time, and giving clients a credible answer when the question gets technical. Outside of those meetings, your project management work is centered on the digital team and the work itself: scope, sequencing, quality, and delivery.

This role reports to the Digital Director. Architecture, IT, and senior strategic direction stay with the Digital Director. Your job is to keep projects shipping and to be the technical lead the dev team can lean on without having to escalate every question to leadership.

What You'll Do

Project pipeline management (~40%)

  • Shepherd digital projects through our internal pipeline from kickoff through launch — keep work sequenced, sized, and moving.
  • Own the digital project pipeline in Monday.com (we run a heavy custom build internally called SasquatchOS). Keep boards clean, statuses honest, and traffic flowing.
  • Run internal kickoffs, dev stand-ups, and working sessions for the digital team.
  • Join client kickoffs, check-ins, and working sessions as the technical voice in the room — scope work in real time, translate between developer and client, and give clients a credible technical answer when the question gets past what an account manager can field. The account manager remains the relationship owner; you're the technical partner alongside them.
  • Build and maintain timelines, scope documents, and deliverable trackers. Flag risks early and partner with account managers to handle scope conversations with the client.
  • Translate scope from account managers into clean, well-defined tickets the dev team can pick up and run with. Translate developer questions, constraints, and trade-offs back into language account managers can take to the client.
  • Maintain documentation of client tech stacks (hosting, DNS, app subscriptions, login inventory) so the dev team isn't hunting for context.

Quality assurance & launch readiness (~30%)

  • Own QA review for digital deliverables — functionality, responsive behavior, browser/device compatibility, accessibility basics, performance sanity checks.
  • Run final pre-launch checklists. Nothing ships without your sign-off.
  • Coordinate UAT cycles with account managers and the client; track issues, prioritize fixes, and verify resolution.
  • Build and refine repeatable QA standards, checklists, and test plans so quality is consistent across projects and team members.
  • Validate analytics, tracking, and tag implementations before launch.
  1. Development escalation & overflow (~25%)
  • Serve as the escalation point for our front-end and back-end developers — review their approach on harder tickets, help debug tricky issues, and unblock them on Shopify, WordPress, tracking, and integration problems.
  • Spot-check work in progress. Catch issues early, give developers feedback that actually helps them grow.
  • Pitch in on development directly as overflow capacity — when the dev team is slammed and something needs to ship, you can pick up tickets and get them done.
  • Decide what gets escalated up to the Digital Director (architecture decisions, IT, vendor changes, security) versus what stays at your level.

Cross-functional support (~5%)

  • Pitch in on internal initiatives — operations improvements, agency tooling, AI workflow rollouts.
  • Help onboard new clients to our project management and reporting cadence (in partnership with account managers).

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 4–6 years in digital project management, web production, or a hybrid PM/developer role. Agency experience is strongly preferred. Prior hands-on development experience is required — you'll be reviewing code, escalating dev questions, and picking up overflow tickets, and we want someone who has actually shipped work and can talk to developers as a peer.
  • Strong organizational instincts. You make order out of chaos and you actually like doing it.
  • Solid working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one CMS templating language (Liquid, PHP, or similar). You can read unfamiliar code, follow what it's doing, spot likely problem areas, and ship a fix when needed.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Shopify (Liquid, theme editing), WordPress (themes, plugins, admin), or comparable CMS work. You'll see both regularly, so willingness to work across platforms matters more than depth in any single one.
  • Strong QA sensibility. You notice the broken thing nobody else noticed. You think in test cases, edge cases, and "what happens when…"
  • Comfort with Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager — at minimum, the ability to verify implementations and read reports.
  • Excellent written communication. You can write a clear ticket, a tight status update, and a calm note to an account manager.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and shift priorities without losing the thread.
  • Comfortable being the senior voice in a room of developers without being the most senior coder. Confidence to say "let's think about this differently" and humility to say "show me what you tried."

Nice to Have

  • Monday.com experience — bonus if you've worked with formula columns, automations, or the GraphQL API.
  • Shopify Liquid customization, Shopify Functions, or Shopify Flow experience.
  • WordPress theme or plugin development, ACF fluency, or experience with builders like Elementor or Gutenberg.
  • Email marketing experience — building, deploying, and reporting on campaigns in Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar. Comfort with list segmentation, deliverability basics, and template HTML is a plus.
  • Familiarity with QA tooling — BrowserStack, Lighthouse, axe DevTools, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Make.com, Zapier, or similar automation platforms.
  • Background working with food, beverage, or outdoor recreation brands.
  • Experience supporting paid media teams on tracking and tag implementation.
  • Sweepstakes, promotions, or compliance-adjacent project experience.

Sasquatch offers an inclusive benefits package including, but not limited to:

  • Competitive salary
  • Health / Vision / Dental / Short-term Disability / Long-term Disability
  • Matched 401K retirement program
  • Generous PTO plan
  • Hybrid work environment, with two days per week mandatory in-office
  • Fun and fast-paced work environment
