Product Manager – Sortation | Hanover, MD


Step into a pivotal leadership role managing the most important product line for a global manufacturer in the industrial automation and material handling space. This is a hands-on, commercially focused Product Manager position responsible for the full product lifecycle - from ideation and improvement through production, aftersales support, and product retirement.


About the Role

You’ll serve as the business owner for a mature, high-impact product central to the company’s success. Working cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, assembly, sales, and aftermarket teams, you’ll ensure the product remains competitive, profitable, and aligned with market needs.


Note: This is not a position for a software or IT product owner but for a Product Manager experienced managing the lifecycle of a tangible product used within manufacuring and distribution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the product throughout its lifecycle: from concept and improvement to release, support, and phase-out.
  • Represent the voice of the market and voice of the customer
  • Partner with engineering and technical product owners to align business and technical objectives.
  • Support commercial success through pricing, positioning, and lifecycle management.
  • Travel to customer sites and trade shows to gather insights and maintain market alignment.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (supply chain, assembly, aftersales) to ensure seamless execution and product excellence.


What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management
  • Previous Product Management, Technical Sales or Application Engineering within industrial automation or manufacturing is a MUST
  • Previous conveyor systems experience is a plus
  • Strong commercial instincts with firsthand customer and market engagement experience.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, or Coding preferred.
  • Results-driven leader comfortable influencing across teams and making decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Must be comfortable spending time in the field and in the office
