Responsibilities
- Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute account plans for major Federal and Military spenders, specifically USACE (Jacksonville District), NAVFAC, AFCEC, DHS, and the VA.
- Market Penetration: Drive regional market penetration and account saturation within the Florida federal landscape, positioning UES as a preferred partner on major pursuits.
- Strategic Capture & Teaming: Lead the end-to-end pursuit of new business by leveraging AEC Prime relationships and balancing direct federal wins with strategic teaming partnerships
- Market Presence & Engagement: Maintain high visibility across the Florida landscape through consistent engagement with regional offices, job sites, and industry hubs; ensure UES remains at the forefront of the federal AEC community through active participation in key regional events and client meetings.
- Strategic Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to Prime partners and federal customers, facilitating collaboration between external stakeholders and internal UES technical teams.
- Regulatory & Contract Expertise: Maintain expert-level knowledge of FAR/DFARS, federal contract vehicles (GSA, GWACs, IDCs, OTAs), and Category Management.
- Performance Tracking: Analyze and report on business development activities, pipeline health, and sales forecasts to regional and executive leadership.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of prior sales and business development experience, preferably in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required; relevant industry certifications preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
- Strong relationship-building, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in basic math and data analysis to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Solid understanding of the construction industry and related regulatory environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Construction Management, Environmental Sciences, Archaeology, Biology, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of business development experience leading Federal Pursuits within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) or related industries.
- Regional Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the Florida-based federal and military ecosystem (e.g., USACE Jacksonville District and Florida-based military installations).
- Partnership Track Record: Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with major AEC Prime Contractors on federal projects.
- Procurement Expertise: Deep expertise in U.S. federal procurement practices and acquisition regulations (including federal small business programs and set-asides).
- Contracting Knowledge: Expert knowledge of contract vehicles (FSS, GWACs, IDCs, OTAs) and federal funding cycles.
- This position requires approximately 20-40% travel throughout Florida for industry events and client meetings. Candidates must be prepared to adhere to all company safety protocols and utilize appropriate PPE during travel and on-site visits.
- This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
- The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
- The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms.
- The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds.
