⚡ ROLE OVERVIEW

Title: Journeyman Electrical Service Estimator / Account Owner

Openings: 2

Location: Fort Lauderdale / Pembroke Park, FL (Hybrid / Remote‑Enabled)


Type: Full‑Time | Direct Hire

Our client's Service Division is under new leadership and active expansion, and this role is a hands‑on, revenue‑owning position that sits at the intersection of:

  • Electrical field expertise
  • Service estimating & pricing
  • Client relationship ownership


This is not a passive estimator role and not a pure field role.


This is a Journeyman‑level electrical professional who can price work, own accounts, and ensure clean execution.


🎯 WHAT THIS ROLE ACTUALLY OWNS

🔧 Electrical Service Estimating (Core Function)

  • Estimate small‑to‑mid commercial electrical service projects
  • Perform takeoffs and pricing using Accubid (preferred) or similar platforms
  • Walk sites when needed to validate scope and field conditions
  • Price work with real‑world labor, access, and sequencing awareness
  • Support T&M, quick‑turn, and negotiated service work


This role exists because service estimates must reflect field reality, not just drawings.


🧾 Proposal Development (CRITICAL)

  • Build clear, client‑ready proposals, including:
  • Defined scope of work
  • Inclusions / exclusions
  • Assumptions and risk language
  • Ensure proposals reduce ambiguity and protect margin
  • Serve as the technical and commercial point of clarity for clients


💼 Account & Client Ownership

  • Own assigned commercial electrical service accounts
  • Act as the primary point of contact for repeat and new clients
  • Identify follow‑on work and service opportunities
  • Maintain relationships with property managers, facilities teams, and owners
  • Balance service responsiveness with margin responsibility


🔩 Execution Alignment (Not PM Bureaucracy)

  • Coordinate with field electricians, foremen, and vendors
  • Align labor, materials, and scheduling against the estimate
  • Review shop drawings and submittals as needed
  • Close the loop between what was priced and what was built


🧠 IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE (NON‑NEGOTIABLE SIGNALS)

  • Journeyman‑level electrical background (license strongly preferred)
  • 5+ years in commercial electrical service, estimating, or service PM roles
  • Proven ability to estimate and price service‑based electrical work
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, code, and field execution
  • Hands‑on experience with service work, special projects, or maintenance
  • Comfortable owning pricing, scope, and client conversations
  • Accubid or equivalent estimating software experience
  • Strong written communication — proposal quality matters here


⭐ NICE‑TO‑HAVE (BUT NOT REQUIRED)

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license
  • Prior account ownership within an electrical contractor
  • Experience in commercial service divisions or maintenance contracting
  • Exposure to generators, life safety, lighting controls, EV, or building upgrades


💰 COMPENSATION & UPSIDE

  • Base Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 (DOE)
  • Performance Incentives: Tied to:
  • Account growth
  • Estimating accuracy
  • Clean execution & margin performance
  • True upside for candidates who price work well and grow accounts
