We are seeking an Account Director (Germany) to own and expand a portfolio of strategic client relationships. In this role, you will act as a senior partner to clients, lead cross-functional teams, and drive sustainable commercial growth while helping organizations navigate complex medical, commercialization, and digital transformation challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of mid- to large-sized life sciences clients in Germany, serving as the primary strategic contact.
- Develop and execute account growth strategies to achieve retention and revenue targets.
- Collaborate with internal specialists across medical, commercial, and digital functions to deliver high-value client solutions.
- Lead proposal development, contract renewals, and commercial negotiations.
- Oversee project delivery, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
- Identify and pursue expansion opportunities within existing accounts, including cross-selling and solution enhancement.
- Provide accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Maintain awareness of German and EU life sciences trends, healthcare policy, and evolving client market dynamics.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in account management, client services, or business development within life sciences, healthcare, consulting, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple complex client relationships and driving commercial outcomes.
- Fluency in German and English (written and spoken).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Commercially minded, analytical, and comfortable working in matrixed environments.
- Willingness to travel within Germany and Europe as required.
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, Hamburg or within a reasonable commuting distance.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with pharmaceutical or biotechnology clients in commercialization, medical affairs, or digital transformation.
- Knowledge of German and EU healthcare systems, regulatory frameworks, and market access considerations.
- Understanding of the role of technology and data analytics in enabling modern healthcare engagement.
