About The Department
The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 450 student-athletes. The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 118 conference titles. The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first non-Power Five program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021. Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for full-time Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Experience (Program Coordinator). The position plans, designs, evaluates, modifies and coordinators efforts to improve the overall marketing and engagement around the women’s basketball program. The position will report to the Sr Director of Marketing & Fan Experience.
This is an entry-level position for an individual interested in a career in athletics marketing and fan experience. This position will work with both traditional and digital marketing tactics including email campaigns, texting campaigns, lead generation while also enhancing the fan experience and in-game presentation around the sport.
The role will work closely with other external units to accomplish department goals of increasing ticket revenue and executing sponsorship assets.
Evening and weekend hours are required.
Essential Functions
- Lead development and execution of marketing plans to drive revenue and increase attendance for home women’s basketball games
- Responsible for effective game day execution of in-game promotion with women’s basketball
- Assist in Football and Men’s Basketball operations
- Assist in recruiting, training and scheduling of the Bearcat Marketing Association (marketing interns)
- Work with ticket sales and service staff to create email marketing strategy
- Collaborate with sponsorship staff to create inventory and ensure activations are executed
- Serve as marketing / community liaison in leading the community outreach needed to help market the Cincinnati brand
- May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.)
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
- One (1) year of program coordination experience.
- Work some evening and weekend hours.
- Handle a fast-paced work environment focused on world-class customer service
- Maintain high-level organization aimed at maximizing sales
- Experience with Adobe Suite, Sound Director, TM Engagement, Microsoft Office, Daktronics.
- Desire to pursue a career within intercollegiate athletics.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to use independent judgement and to manage and impart information.
- Must maintain NCAA compliance while in this role.
