Techno-Functional Business Analyst (m/f/d)

Roles & Responsibilities

Business & Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand business challenges, operational pain points, and functional requirements
• Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications
• Act as a trusted advisor by evaluating solution options and discussing potential trade-offs

Requirements Management & Documentation

• Lead requirements gathering activities and maintain comprehensive project documentation
• Ensure requirements are clearly defined, testable, traceable, and aligned with business objectives
• Define KPIs and data structures and support their integration into the global data catalog

Data Analysis & Data Mapping

• Conduct data profiling, data quality assessments, and exploratory analysis across source systems
• Define and document source-to-target mappings and transformation logic for data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytics platforms
• Create and maintain data models, entity-relationship diagrams, and technical documentation
• Identify data inconsistencies, gaps, and quality issues and develop suitable remediation approaches

Technical Collaboration

• Work closely with data architects, data engineers, BI developers, and solution architects to ensure accurate implementation of business and data requirements
• Participate in architecture and design reviews to ensure compliance with technical standards and target architectures

Delivery & Quality Assurance Support

• Validate implemented solutions against business requirements during testing phases
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by defining test scenarios and validating results
• Identify risks, dependencies, and potential impacts associated with proposed changes

Continuous Improvement

• Promote data ownership, data quality awareness, and a data-driven mindset across the organization
• Contribute to the optimization of requirement management and delivery processes
• Maintain documentation standards and best practices
• Support change management and impact analysis activities

Required Experience

• 5–8 years of professional experience as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or in a comparable role
• Experience working within international transformation projects in areas such as Operations, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, or Finance
• Strong expertise in data analysis, data modeling, database design, data mining, and segmentation techniques; experience with Microsoft Azure is considered a plus
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers, QA teams, and product owners
• Strong understanding of how data supports business processes and drives business value
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field

Functional & Analytical Skills

• Strong understanding of product lifecycle processes and their integration into downstream business processes
• Excellent knowledge of product, part, and BOM (Bill of Materials) data models
• Experience working in global transformation environments
• Strong requirements engineering and documentation capabilities
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a business-oriented manner
• Structured working style with strong attention to detail

Technical Skills

• Experience with databases and data flow concepts
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure, or similar platforms
• Strong experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, SQL, and Azure-based technologies

• Strong communication and collaboration skills within international environments
• Fluent English skills (written and spoken) are required; German and Japanese are considered a plus
• Ability to confidently communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
