Senior Futures Gas Trader

As a Gas Futures Trader, you will take ownership of proprietary trading across European gas markets, focusing on curve positioning, relative value, and outright risk. You’ll operate in a well-capitalised environment where strong market views, disciplined risk taking, and consistent performance are rewarded.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute proprietary gas futures trades across European markets, actively managing risk across the curve.
• Develop and implement trading strategies across short, medium, and long-term horizons.
• Analyse core gas market fundamentals including supply and demand, storage dynamics, LNG flows, pipeline flows, weather, and regulatory developments.
• Identify structural, cross-market, and relative value opportunities across hubs and products.
• Actively manage positions, PnL, and exposure within defined risk limits.
• Contribute to market debate, idea generation, and strategy refinement within a collaborative trading team.

Requirements:

• Proven experience trading gas futures or closely related energy derivatives.
• Strong understanding of European gas markets and forward curve behaviour.
• Demonstrated ability to generate PnL through disciplined risk taking.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to form and execute high-conviction views.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, performance-driven trading environment.
• Clear communicator with the confidence to challenge and defend market opinions.
