Payroll Specialist & Client Account Manager
Position Overview
HiveWorks Business Solutions is seeking a sophisticated Payroll Specialist & Client Account Manager to join our professional services team in Miami Lakes. Unlike traditional processing roles, you will act as a payroll concierge for a dedicated portfolio of clients. You will serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring that client-submitted payroll runs are accurate, compliant, and reconciled against complex benefit structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Advocacy: Manage a dedicated portfolio of trusted clients, serving as their primary expert for payroll and tax compliance inquiries.
- Compliance Auditing: Review and approve 10–30 client-submitted payroll runs daily through ADP RUN, flagging inaccuracies before release.
- Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile weekly and bi-weekly reports against pre- and post-tax benefit deductions, including 401k (traditional and Roth), FSA, HSA, etc.
- Expert Guidance: Provide technical navigation support for payroll systems and resolve client payroll inquiries involving but not limited to withholding amounts, wage garnishments, and tax jurisdictions.
- HR Administration: Support the broader HiveWorks team with essential client HR administrative tasks and client onboarding as required.
Required Qualifications & Knowledge
- Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience.
- Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of FICA/Social Security/Medicare, employer/employee tax splits, and federal/state withholding.
- Compliance Literacy: Working knowledge of FLSA and common HR labor standards
- Communication: Exceptional bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) with the ability to explain complex tax topics to clients clearly.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfort managing high-volume, deadline-driven workloads in an on-site office environment.
Preferred Credentials
- Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other affiliated industry
- Background: Prior experience in a corporate payroll environment, PEO, or outsourced HR firm.
- Systems: Familiarity with ADP RUN, Workforce Now, or other comparable national HCM platform.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $50,000–$60,000 annually.
