Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile weekly and bi-weekly reports against pre- and post-tax benefit deductions, including 401k (traditional and Roth), FSA, HSA, etc.
  • Expert Guidance: Provide technical navigation support for payroll systems and resolve client payroll inquiries involving but not limited to withholding amounts, wage garnishments, and tax jurisdictions.
  • HR Administration: Support the broader HiveWorks team with essential client HR administrative tasks and client onboarding as required.

Required Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of FICA/Social Security/Medicare, employer/employee tax splits, and federal/state withholding.
  • Compliance Literacy: Working knowledge of FLSA and common HR labor standards
  • Communication: Exceptional bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) with the ability to explain complex tax topics to clients clearly.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfort managing high-volume, deadline-driven workloads in an on-site office environment.

Preferred Credentials

  • Certifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other affiliated industry
  • Background: Prior experience in a corporate payroll environment, PEO, or outsourced HR firm.
  • Systems: Familiarity with ADP RUN, Workforce Now, or other comparable national HCM platform.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $50,000–$60,000 annually.
  • Retirement: Access to a Company Retirement Plan with a matching contribution (tenure-based).
  • Time Off: Paid vacation available upon reaching tenure milestones.
  • Environment: An intimate boutique firm that is relationship-driven, with a hands-on team culture.
