About Palma

Palma is transforming enterprise workflows by enabling AI clients to connect with live systems through chat, while autonomous agents handle critical business functions at scale. Palma is the enterprise control layer: it enforces rules, tracks actions and logs costs, keeping teams in control. The platform integrates agents, people and systems so that MCP scales in production. Palma is available on-premises, as SaaS, or in hybrid configurations.

What you'll do

You would lead the engineering work behind how Palma runs inside customer environments. The scope covers platform infrastructure and the customer-facing work that happens around a real deployment.

• Own the Kubernetes and Helm packaging customers deploy into their own clusters.

• Decide and ship the installer and distribution approach, including air-gapped scenarios.

• Build observability that customers can route into their own monitoring stack.

• Work with customer platform and security teams through integration and rollout.

• Run production database operations: HA, backup and restore, online migrations.

What we use

• TypeScript and Node 22 for backend services.

• Fastify, Drizzle, Postgres 16.

• Express, OpenTelemetry, Redis on the MCP gateway path.

• SvelteKit 2 and Svelte 5 on the frontend.

• Keycloak for OIDC, SAML and SCIM.

• Docker and Kubernetes for deployment.

We care more about deployment and security depth than framework familiarity.

What we look for

• Around 8 to 12 years of engineering experience, including at least one stint as an early engineer at a startup that grew.

• You've shipped a self-hosted product into a regulated environment (banking, insurance, healthcare, defense or similar). This is the single most important signal for us.

• Production experience with Kubernetes and Helm, and a packaging or distribution story you've owned (Replicated, Embedded Cluster, a custom installer, air-gapped bundling, or similar).

• SOC 2 or ISO 27001 work in a prior role, with hands-on involvement in security questionnaires and audit cycles.

• Comfortable on customer calls during installs and integrations. Clear writer; most of our decisions live in writing.

Helpful but not required

• TypeScript and Node fluency.

• OpenTelemetry, the Grafana stack, Pyroscope.

• Pulumi, Terraform, or comparable IaC at scale.

• Prior exposure to MCP, LLM tooling, or AI infrastructure.

How we work

Both founders are technical and stay close to engineering and customers. We work asynchronously most of the time, with EU/US overlap for what needs it. Decisions live in writing in the repo so the team can move quickly without long meetings.
