Are you willing to challenge yourself to help our customers succeed. Previous knowledge with MV products will be an asset along with previous experience developing electrical system solutions. You will collaborate with internal and external customers to ensure customers success. System Programmers design and implement automation systems, enhancing industrial processes. Responsibilities include developing programs, troubleshooting system issues, and ensuring optimal system performance. Expertise with Industrial Control Products (PLC's, HMI's, Drives) and industrial networks is important.
This role reports to the Engineering Team Leader, and is located in Cambridge, ON, Canada
Responsibilities
- Supporting execution of Medium Voltage Business Unit live orders is the primary function of this position, mainly through facilitating integration of various RA & 3rd party control products within a system
- Reviewing proposals/specifications of live orders and generating functional specifications that define interface and operation with customer processes & control equipment
- Collaborate with application engineering, manufacturing, technical support, field modification/services and R&D in various facets of product execution
- Generation of program files (PLC, HMI, configuration) for the live order MV equipment
- Test, debug, and troubleshoot programme files within RA MV facilities, and support RA field service during commissioning at customer sites
- Support R&D, Field Modification group, and Manufacturing in the refinement or addition of features within the RA MV product scope
- Coach and support engineering staff with their activities
- Provide ongoing support across all Applications Engineering activities as required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
- Legal authorization to work in Canada is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- P.Eng or C.E.T. certification or ability to obtain it.
- University Degree or Technologist Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Be able to read and interpret Electrical schematics and technical specifications.
- Experience with Programmable Controllers, HMI's, and Industrial Networks.
- Solid understanding of industry accepted MV motor control products (drives, SMC's, starters, circuit breakers, protection relays)
- ACAD, CREO and SAP Experience
- Understanding of AC/DC drive systems with A-B PowerFlex Products
- Knowledge of RA industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, AB Remote I/O)
- Knowledge of 3rd party industrial protocols (Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus DP, ProfiNet, IEC61850, etc.)
- Understanding of RA Control products (Logix Controllers, HMI's, I/O products, etc.)
- Familiar with Rockwell Software products (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME/SE, CCW, etc).
- In-Depth knowledge of PLC programming languages such as Ladder logic and function block diagrams.
- Understanding of Synchronous motor types (DC Brush/Brushless & AC Brushless).
- Exposure/understanding of industries served by the Medium Voltage Business (Oil & Gas, Mining, Water/WasteWater, Pulp/Paper, Rubber, etc.)
