What You’ll Be Doing
In particular, you will need to:
- Develop and manage customer relationships across East, Middle East, and South Africa ports to grow spot and term bunker sales (ex‑wharf and delivered).
- Maintain and grow the term channel customer base, leveraging existing global customer relationships.
- Collaborate closely with the Team Lead, Trading Operations, and Downstream South Africa supply teams.
- Partner with the Trading team to execute the highest‑value sales channels.
- Contribute to the development of trading, barge, and sales strategies for the assigned ports.
- Monitor and manage regional bunker fuel supply and demand dynamics.
- Track vessel movements and analyze shipping patterns to support sales planning.
- Interface with Sales, Operations, and Trading to optimize integrated PnL performance.
- Manage commercial claims and customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution.
- Provide end‑to‑end sales support, including regulatory communication, specification updates, customer value tracking, and coordination with credit and account management teams.
- Solid sales and account management capability, with solid literacy, numeracy, and a clear results‑driven mindset. Experience in Bunker operations/sales highly preferred.
- Proven ability to operate independently, take initiative, and manage a dedicated customer portfolio and multiple internal stakeholders (Trading, Sales, Supply & Distribution).
- Collaborative team player who can work within and help build effective teams, with enthusiasm for end‑to‑end business growth for Shell.
- Sound understanding of trading and sales optionality, key trading strategies, bunker delivery operations and documentation, and local systems, regulations, and market dynamics.
- Capability to lead new business development opportunities and projects, with bi‑lingual skills required in some regions.
