President - Property Management

MHW Search has exclusively partnered with a well-established Multifamily Investment firm in Houston. We are searching for a President of Property Management.

The firm is seeking a President of Property Management to lead and scale its multifamily platform across a 10,000-unit portfolio. This individual will be responsible for driving operational performance, overseeing property management teams, and implementing best-in-class processes to maximize NOI, occupancy, and resident experience. In addition to overseeing the existing portfolio, this role will play a key part in growing and scaling the firm’s third-party property management platform. The role will partner closely with asset management, acquisitions, and executive leadership to align property-level execution with broader investment strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations across a 10,000-unit multifamily portfolio, ensuring strong performance across occupancy, rent growth, and expense control
• Lead, mentor, and scale a team of regional managers, property managers, and support staff across multiple markets
• Drive operational strategy and execution, including leasing performance, revenue management, and cost optimization initiatives
• Partner with asset management to execute business plans, capital improvement programs, and value-add strategies
• Lead the growth of the firm’s third-party property management platform, including business development, onboarding new clients, and building scalable infrastructure
• Establish and enforce standardized operating procedures, reporting frameworks, and performance metrics across both owned and third-party portfolios
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across the portfolio
• Implement and optimize property management systems, technology platforms, and data analytics capabilities
• Ensure high levels of resident satisfaction, retention, and service delivery across all communities
• Support acquisitions and dispositions through operational diligence, underwriting insights, and transition planning
• Interface with ownership, investors, and executive leadership on portfolio performance and strategic initiatives

Qualifications

• 12–20+ years of experience in multifamily property management with oversight of large-scale portfolios
• Proven experience managing and scaling teams across multiple properties and markets
• Experience building or growing a third-party property management platform preferred
• Strong understanding of leasing, revenue management, budgeting, and property-level operations
• Experience working closely with asset management and investment teams
• Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance and drive NOI growth
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience with Yardi, RealPage, or similar property management platforms preferred
