Accounts Payable Manager

A growing and well-established service-based organization in the Pearland area is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee and optimize the AP function. This individual will lead day-to-day accounts payable operations, manage vendor relationships, improve processes, and partner closely with accounting and operational leadership in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process including invoice processing, approvals, payment runs, vendor maintenance, and reconciliations
• Manage and mentor AP staff while driving accountability, accuracy, and efficiency
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of high-volume invoices and vendor payments
• Partner with operations and project teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and approval issues
• Monitor AP aging and cash flow considerations while maintaining strong vendor relationships
• Assist with month-end close activities including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting related to payables
• Develop and improve AP policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Identify opportunities for automation, process improvements, and workflow efficiencies
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements
• Support leadership with reporting, analytics, and operational improvements related to AP functions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience
• Prior leadership or management experience preferred
• Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, reconciliations, vendor management, and AP workflows
• Construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or project-based industry experience is highly preferred
• Strong Excel skills and experience working within ERP/accounting systems
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work cross-functionally with multiple departments
