About WOIO/WUAB:
WOIO-19 and WUAB-43 are the CBS and CW Affiliates in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as WTCL, the only Telemundo station in the Cleveland DMA. We produce 69.5 hours of live, local news, weather, and sports every week and deliver content on a 24/7 basis on our digital platforms on WOIO and WUAB, and 10+ hours of news on WTCL/WOHZ.
Job Summary/Description:
WOIO in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking an experienced meteorologist ready to join Northeast Ohio's top-rated First Alert weather team. Candidate must be able to create clear and compelling weather forecasts for all on-air and online platforms. The ability to work well with others is paramount.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze weather data and prepare forecasts for all platforms
- Create clear, impactful graphic presentations utilizing technology, including augmented reality
- Create videos for social media and all station-owned digital platforms
- Write engaging online stories about the weather
- Conceptualize and implement weather segments to run in our daily all-weather newscast
- Other duties as assigned by the News Director and/or Assistant News Director.
- Bachelor's degree in meteorology
- Prior experience as a broadcast meteorologist
- Strong on-air communication skills
- Ability to work as part of an on-air team and part of a weather team
- Ability to be creative with graphic design and presentation
- Demonstrated ability to accurately forecast weather
- Proficient in social media platforms
- Valid driver's license
