For a fast‑growing international pharmaceutical company headquartered in Asia, currently establishing and expanding its European footprint, we are looking for a highly senior VP of Clinical (Europe) to be based in Switzerland.
This role offers the opportunity to build and lead European clinical strategy at executive level, with full ownership of clinical development, regulatory engagement, and team build‑up across Europe.
VP of Clinical (Europe, based in Switzerland)
Your Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of European clinical development strategy, including development pathways, trial design optimization, and proactive risk management.
- Provide end‑to‑end medical and clinical leadership across the entire lifecycle of European clinical programs, ensuring scientific rigor, quality, and compliance.
- Lead and manage direct interactions with EMA, Swissmedic, and other European regulatory authorities, including oversight of clinical registration dossiers and regulatory submissions.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with investigators, research sites, CROs/CSOs, and external experts across Europe.
- Act as a key integrator across functions and regions, resolving complex cross‑organizational topics between Europe and global stakeholders.
- Monitor and steer timelines, quality, and budgets of European clinical projects, adjusting strategies in response to regulatory or market developments.
- Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing European clinical organization.
Your Profile
- MD or PhD in pharmaceutical sciences or a related field; EU or Swiss medical license is a strong advantage.
- 15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical companies or CROs, including significant leadership responsibility in European clinical development.
- Proven track record of leading innovative drug programs through EMA registration and approval, up to market launch.
- Deep expertise in EMA regulatory processes, requirements, and guidelines, with the ability to independently lead regulator interactions.
- Strong experience operating in complex international matrix organizations.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and decision‑making skills.
- Fluent English and Chinese (written and spoken) are required.
