***THIS IS NOT A JOB WITH FORCEBRANDS***

Our client - a stunning, high-growth agave portfolio - is hiring a W-2, part-time Market Manager to develop the LA metro market with the potential to expand to full-time after 90 days.

About the role

As a Market Manager, you will play a pivotal role in building the brand’s presence across Los Angeles, with a focus on priority areas including Hollywood, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and the San Fernando Valley. This field-based, part-time role is centered on creating early momentum in the market by driving account acquisition, increasing brand visibility, and helping establish a strong on-premise foundation. You will spend your time in market developing relationships, opening doors with target accounts, and supporting both placement and awareness efforts for a premium tequila brand with a compelling story. Reporting directly to the exec team and working closely with a small, hands-on team, you will have the opportunity to help shape the market strategy from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a growth-stage environment, enjoys autonomy, and wants to contribute meaningfully to a brand that is building quickly in California.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and grow the brand’s footprint throughout Los Angeles, calling on target accounts across key neighborhoods and extending coverage into the San Fernando Valley.
  • Focus primarily on on-premise account acquisition to secure back bar placements, build buyer and bartender relationships, and create opportunities for future cocktail features.
  • Support off-premise visibility by checking priority retail accounts, confirming product presence on shelf, speaking with store managers, and capturing market feedback.
  • Execute consistent cold calling and follow-up activity, using a prospect list and in-market relationship building to create new business opportunities over time.
  • Occasionally assist with tastings and market activations that help reinforce awareness and support sell-through in the field.

What we're looking for

  • A relationship-driven professional who is comfortable spending time in market, meeting buyers, bartenders, and account decision-makers face to face.
  • Someone who understands the bar, restaurant, and spirits landscape, whether through experience as a bartender, bar manager, buyer, or with a smaller spirits brand.
  • A self-starter with the persistence to handle cold outreach, manage objections, and stay consistent even when sales take multiple touchpoints to close.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to present the brand, product quality, and positioning in a compelling way.
  • A hungry, growth-minded individual who wants to help build a brand at the ground level and can work effectively with flexibility and autonomy.

What you'll need

  • Experience in sales, account development, hospitality, or spirits-related roles that translates well to market management and account acquisition.
  • Availability to work approximately 20 hours per week in a flexible, field-based schedule spread across the week as needed for buyer availability.
  • Ability to cover Los Angeles broadly, including priority markets such as Hollywood, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and areas along Ventura Boulevard into the San Fernando Valley.
  • Comfort working in a remote, independent role while maintaining regular communication with leadership.
  • Familiarity with the three-tier system and an understanding of how to work with accounts in a developing market structure.
  • Confidence in helping accounts navigate ordering processes, including situations where some accounts may need guidance getting set up.
  • Ability to manage target account lists, maintain follow-up discipline, and contribute to KPI-based performance expectations as the market develops.
  • If representing other brands or products, you must not be selling another tequila; non-competing beverage categories and agave-adjacent products may be acceptable.

What we offer

We offer the opportunity to join a small, entrepreneurial team at an exciting stage of growth and make a direct impact in one of the brand’s most important markets. This is a part-time, field-based position with flexibility to build your schedule around productive account coverage and buyer availability. You will work closely with leadership, gain meaningful ownership over your market, and help establish the brand’s on-premise and off-premise presence from an early stage. The role is designed to start with a focused scope and may expand over time as the business grows and the market foundation strengthens. You’ll also be part of a brand with a strong story, premium positioning, and growing momentum in California retail and hospitality accounts.
