Senior Ecommerce Manager / Ecommerce Lead

Activewear & Liefstyle | Sydney | $140,000 - $160,000 + super

This is a well-known Australian brand with a strong online presence.

The ecommerce channel is the primary commercial engine and it is run on data. Every decision gets measured. Every change gets justified in revenue terms.

The business has recently restructured its digital function as it scales. This role - the commercial trading seat - is the more senior of the two positions created. The operations side is already filled. This one is still open.

You will have two direct reports and report directly into the business directors. Real ownership, real accountability, no layers.

What the role actually covers

This is broader than a standard ecommerce manager role. There are five distinct areas this person owns:

Day-to-day commercial trading of the Shopify store - the full trading calendar, campaign launches, product drops, promotions, markdown events, bundles, homepage updates. You own what goes live and when.

Visual merchandising across the entire site - homepage, collection pages, PDPs, search results, landing pages. The right product in the right place at the right time, aligned to stock, sell-through priorities and newness. High standard, consistently maintained.

Conversion rate and performance - diagnosing why pages are or are not working, running A/B tests, reading results in dollars not percentages, and acting on what you find. Not just reporting on the data. Doing something with it.

Data and trading insight - Shopify reporting and GA4 used to monitor sessions, conversion rate, AOV and revenue per session. Weekly trading reports that contain clear commercial actions, not commentary on what already happened.

Cross-functional execution - this person is the single point of accountability for everything that goes live onsite. You partner with buying, planning, marketing, CRM and ops. You brief developers, coordinate creative assets, complete pre-launch QA and make sure campaigns go live correctly. If something is wrong onsite, it is your problem to fix.

What you need

  • 5+ years in ecommerce, digital trading or online retail - in a role where you were on the tools yourself, not managing someone who was
  • Strong hands-on Shopify experience in a multi-SKU retail environment
  • Solid GA4 capability - using data to make commercial decisions, not just to build reports
  • The ability to translate what you see in the data into financial outcomes and communicate those clearly to senior leadership
  • Experience setting up and executing promotions, launches and onsite campaigns with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong people management and the ability to manage upwards confidently in a lean, founder-led business
  • An analytical mindset - this business thinks in numbers and you need to as well
  • Experience across A/B testing, CRO, merchandising tools or search tools is a genuine advantage
  • Background in activewear, fashion, apparel or lifestyle ecommerce preferred
