Role Overview
Slalom is seeking an experienced Director, Client Partner to lead and manage our largest Energy & Utilities client portfolio in Melbourne. This is a senior, market-facing leadership role accountable for building trusted executive relationships, driving revenue growth, and ensuring exceptional delivery across a complex Energy & Utilities client.
You will act as a strategic advisor to utility providers and energy organisations navigating large-scale transformation—spanning digital modernisation, data and analytics, cloud, customer experience, regulatory change, and operating model transformation—while building Slalom’s brand and footprint across the Victorian energy ecosystem.
What You Will Do
Strategic Client Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite and senior executives across our Energy & Utility client.
- Influence client strategy by aligning Slalom’s consulting, technology, and transformation capabilities to critical business challenges such as decarbonisation, grid modernisation, customer digitisation, regulatory compliance, asset optimisation, and workforce transformation.
Portfolio & Revenue Growth
- Own and grow the Energy & Utility account portfolio in the Melbourne, accountable for revenue, margin, and long-term account health.
- Identify, qualify, and shape opportunities; lead pursuits from ideation through deal close, including solution design and Statement of Work development.
- Build and execute account plans aligned to Slalom’s ANZ and Global Energy & Utilities go-to-market strategy.
- Collaborate with Slalom's Global Energy and Utilities team to champion and amplify global industry expertise, translating cutting-edge insights and best practices into compelling value propositions for the Australian market
Business Development & Market Presence
- Expand Slalom’s Energy & Utilities footprint in Victoria through new-logo acquisition and account expansion.
- Leverage a strong local network across utilities, regulators, partners, and industry bodies to build pipeline.
- Represent Slalom at industry forums, conferences, and client roundtables as a recognised Energy & Utilities thought leader.
Delivery Oversight & Client Satisfaction
- Provide executive oversight across all sold engagements within your portfolio, ensuring high-quality delivery, commercial performance, and strong client outcomes.
- Partner closely with Practice and Capability Leaders (Data, Cloud, Salesforce, CX, Strategy, Transformation) to assemble and lead high-performing teams.
Leadership & Talent Stewardship
- Act as a senior leader within Slalom Melbourne, sponsoring talent, developing future leaders, and supporting workforce planning for Energy & Utilities clients.
- Champion Slalom’s values, culture, and commitment to inclusion, purpose, and community impact.
What You Will Bring
Experience & Expertise
- Significant experience in consulting or professional services, managing and growing senior client portfolios within Energy & Utilities.
- Proven track record in selling and delivering complex transformation programs (digital, technology, data, regulatory or operating model change).
- Strong understanding of the Australian Energy & Utilities landscape, including regulatory environments, market operators, and industry trends.
Commercial & Delivery Acumen
- Demonstrated ownership of P&L for large accounts or portfolios.
- Ability to shape commercially viable solutions in partnership with technical and delivery leaders.
- Experience overseeing multi-stream programs with high financial, delivery, and reputational complexity.
Executive Presence & Leadership
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with executive-level stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and decision-making capability.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to operate across sales, delivery, and people leadership.
