Director of Property Management - Multifamily

Macdonald & Company has partnered with a vertically integrated multifamily investment and operating platform to appoint a Director of Operations based in Atlanta.

The company acquires, develops, and manages multifamily communities across high-growth Southeast markets and has built a fully integrated platform spanning acquisitions, property management, asset management, and development.

This is a highly entrepreneurial leadership role focused on scaling and improving operations across the platform. The firm is seeking a hands-on operator with a strong property management background who can build processes, implement systems, drive accountability, and help shape the long-term operating infrastructure of the business.

The ideal candidate will have experience helping build or scale a property management platform, ideally within an owner/operator environment, and will bring a process-driven mindset alongside strong operational leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee operational performance across the multifamily portfolio
• Lead and develop property management teams across the platform
• Build and implement operational processes, reporting structures, and scalable infrastructure
• Drive occupancy, leasing performance, resident retention, expense control, and NOI growth
• Execute value-add business plans including renovations and operational repositioning initiatives
• Partner directly with ownership on strategic growth initiatives and operational execution
• Improve accountability, KPI tracking, and portfolio-level visibility across operations
• Assist with implementation and optimization of property management systems and operational technology
• Work alongside internal technology and operational teams to improve efficiency and scalability
• Support recruiting, training, and development efforts as the platform continues to grow

Requirements:

• 7+ years of multifamily operations or property management leadership experience
• Strong background overseeing multifamily portfolios and operational teams
• Experience helping build, scale, or improve a property management platform or operating business
• Strong understanding of PMS platforms, operational reporting, and process implementation
• Track record of driving operational improvements and asset-level performance
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
• Owner/operator experience highly preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
