QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of two years of college, or two years of experience working with children in an instructional setting
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 72 days
STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Classroom Teacher
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To assist the teacher in maintaining appropriate classroom activities and environment in order that students may learn effectively.
Duties And Responsibilities
Participates in classroom activity planning.
Conducts learning exercises with small groups of children and individual students.
Guides children in working and playing harmoniously with other children.
Helps maintain individual records for each child.
Assists the teacher in maintaining neat work and study areas.
Assists with the supervision of children during regular play periods and lunch supervision.
Assists with daily living skills, which may include toileting
Participate in specific training identified by the administration
Follows individual behavior plans
Attends community-based instructional activities
Completes annual employee training
Maintains consistent attendance
Performs other duties as assigned

Requires the ability to sit with intermittent occasional walking, standing, bending, and squatting
Requires the ability to stoop, reach, grab, pull, hear, see, and speak on a daily basis
Requires the ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as computer keyboarding, writing, and reading
Occasionally required to lift or carry supplies, textbooks, furniture, and equipment of a minimum of 35 pounds

$20/hour Tuesday and Thursday
