Account Executive - Commercial Flooring

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Account Executive to drive sales of commercial flooring solutions across an assigned territory. The role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with architects, general contractors, facility managers and distributors; managing the project sales lifecycle from qualification through installation; and achieving revenue and margin targets. The ideal candidate combines strong territory sales skills with hands-on project sales experience and deep knowledge of commercial flooring products and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow sales within an assigned territory by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with architects, contractors, facility managers, property managers and distributors.
  • Develop and execute territory business plans to achieve quarterly and annual revenue, margin, and market-share goals.
  • Own the full project sales lifecycle: qualify leads, prepare proposals and estimates, coordinate technical specifications, manage approvals, and support the transition to operations and installation teams.
  • Prepare and present product solutions, technical specifications and value propositions to design teams, procurement departments and decision-makers.
  • Generate accurate bids and proposals, negotiate pricing and contract terms, and close deals while protecting company margins.
  • Collaborate closely with estimating, project management, operations, and customer service to ensure successful project execution, on-time delivery and high customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain up-to-date pipeline and activity records in CRM, provide regular sales forecasts and reports to management.
  • Build and nurture long-term client relationships through regular account reviews, site visits, follow-up and post-installation support.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive offerings, building codes, and new flooring technologies; represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of proven Commercial Flooring sales experience, including territory and project sales; experience selling into commercial construction, facilities management or design firms preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing a sales territory and meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of commercial flooring products, specifications, installation methods and relevant building codes.
  • Proven ability to manage project-based sales, prepare accurate bids/estimates, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with internal project teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to influence architects, contractors and facility stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to track multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel within the territory; ability to visit job sites and client locations regularly.
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Construction Management, Interior Design or related field preferred, or equivalent sales experience.
