A growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the delivery of accurate financial information to management and ensure the integrity of accounting data through proper recording, verification, and reconciliation of transactions. This role reports directly to the Corporate Controller and partners closely with accounting leadership.

The position offers exposure to a dynamic environment, including financial systems management, period-end close processes, and audit support. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in a senior accounting capacity, preferably within mid-sized to large organizations, along with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environments.

Key Responsibilities


  • Support monthly close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Maintain and reconcile key accounts, including cash, payroll, and accruals
  • Ensure integrity of financial data by identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Prepare and record journal entries across all reporting periods (monthly, quarterly, annual)
  • Manage and reconcile capital project (CIP) activities and in-service tracking
  • Reconcile sales tax data across systems and support indirect tax processes
  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare required documentation and schedules
  • Partner cross-functionally to support financial reporting and analysis needs


Compliance & Controls

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting processes
  • Improve policies, procedures, and reconciliation workflows
  • Support timely and accurate completion of indirect tax filings (sales/use, VAT/GST as applicable)


Reporting & Analysis

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Provide insight into financial risks and operational considerations
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support leadership decision-making


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred; MBA a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with major ERP systems (NetSuite, Great Plains, or similar preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including large data set management
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or distribution environments preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
