Part-Time Accounting & Bookkeeping Specialist (On-Site, Surrey)

Aventyr Security Corporation – Surrey, BC

Hours: 20 hours per week

Compensation: $25 – $35 per hour (depending on experience)

Aventyr Security Corporation is a rapidly growing Vancouver-area company providing advanced physical and virtual security solutions to construction and industrial clients. We integrate security guards, virtual monitoring, and cutting-edge technology into a single holistic protection platform.

We’re seeking a part-time accounting and bookkeeping professional who can join our Surrey office and take ownership of our day-to-day financial operations. This is a hands-on role suited for an independent, detail-oriented person who enjoys improving systems and seeing their work directly impact company growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Accounts Payable (AP) process vendor invoices, schedule and record payments
  • Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) issue invoices, track payments, reconcile deposits
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations (bank, credit card, and general ledger)
  • Prepare and submit GST/PST tax remittances through CRA portals
  • Handle payroll processing and remittances (bi-weekly)
  • File WorkSafeBC remittances and reports
  • Maintain organized digital records and financial documentation
  • Support management with monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Coordinate with external accountants for year-end filings and audits

Requirements

  • 2+ years bookkeeping or accounting experience (or strong 3rd/4th-year Accounting student)
  • Proficiency in Odoo
  • Understanding of Canadian small-business accounting, GST/PST, and payroll remittances
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work on-site in Surrey 2–3 days per week
  • Excellent communication and integrity when handling confidential information

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in construction, industrial, or service industries
  • Comfort working directly with the owner/management team
