Public Relations Assistant Account Executive
Commonwealth Consultants, a Top 25 PR firm for 23 consecutive years according to the Washington Business Journal, is seeking an Assistant Account Executive.
The Assistant Account Executive will work under the supervision of the firm’s Account Executive and President on various accounts including Fortune 500 companies active in the DMV Region and the mid-Atlantic as well as a regional trade association. The Assistant Account Executive will also provide support on internal marketing, the activities of the company’s award-winning foundation, as well as administrative tasks and projects that will advance the firm’s success as well as the Assistant Account Executive’s personal growth and advancement.
Unlike similar positions at larger PR firms, since Commonwealth Consultants is a very small company, its Assistant Account Executive, with an annual salary of $60,000 plus bonus, is provided exceptional responsibility and exposure that other big firms simply can’t provide. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and self-motivated individual with at least 1 year of job experience. All candidates must also be highly motivated and passionate to learn, work hard and succeed. They must be able to operate without supervision and be proactive at creating deliverables that produce results and demonstrate achievement to clients. This position is located in-person and onsite in Tysons, VA. An automobile is required. No remote candidates will be considered.
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
· Collaborate and work with the Account Executive to understand client goals and objectives.
· Upon training, implement account strategies to meet project deadlines for multiple clients with minimal supervision.
· Serve as both company, as well as client representative, for attendance at meetings and events.
· Implement planning and execution for a leading regional association’s operations, member meetings and annual events.
· Implement the community engagement program for an elite client on a major project.
· Attend local board meetings and public hearings as needed to monitor relevant legislation.
· Coordinate marketing campaigns for both clients and firm.
· Represent client at marketing and charitable events.
· Participate in evening community meetings on behalf of clients and company charitable foundation.
· Assist in drafting materials such as outreach letters, press releases, E-blasts, and website copy.
· Manage administrative tasks including scheduling, note taking, organization, and finance.
· Communicate with vendors such as production, digital content creators, caterers, and photographers.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
· Execute your job duties while maintaining Commonwealth Consultants’ reputation of proven success and brand dominance in its space.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis on communications, public relations, political science, business or other applicable liberal arts degrees.
· Extraordinarily driven and self-motivated.
· At least 1 year of job experience.
· Strong oral skills and ability to communicate effectively in-person and virtually. The Assistant Account Executive will be in weekly meetings with executives from Fortune 15 and Fortune 500 clients and CEOs from across the Region and country.
· Exceptional attention to detail.

Compensation
· Starting Annual Salary is $60,000 plus bonus.
· Annual Bonus is based on defined performance metrics.
· Additional New Business Bonus for facilitating new clients.
