About EVOKE
EVOKE is a Houston Texas-based, experience-driven marketing agency built at the intersection of branded merchandise, experiential events, and brand strategy.
We do not approach branded merchandise as standalone products. We use it as a tool to create moments, shape perception, and extend brand experiences beyond a single touchpoint. From campaign kits to large-scale activations, our work is designed to make brands felt, not just seen. Our approach is rooted in hospitality. Every item, interaction, and detail is considered part of a larger guest journey.
We are not a traditional promotional products distributor. We are building programs, environments, and experiences that always include merchandise.
WHAT YOU'LL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
Revenue & Growth
- Build and maintain a pipeline that consistently produces new business
- Bring and expand an existing book of business
- Close deals and grow account value over time
Client Leadership
- Lead discovery conversations and define clear opportunities
- Develop initial concepts and program direction
- Present ideas, pricing, and strategy directly to clients
Opportunity Quality
- Elevate requests into programs, not one-off orders
- Push clients beyond “they want promo” into more strategic solutions
- Maintain ownership from first conversation through execution
90-DAY & 6-MONTH EXPECTATIONS
First 90 Days
- Build an active pipeline
- Engage your existing network
- Close initial deals
By 6 Months
- Consistent deal flow
- Active book of business growth
- Demonstrated ability to expand opportunities beyond transactional orders
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
- 5+ years in promotional products or branded merchandise sales
- Experience working for a distributor and managing a book of business
- Proficiency in SAGE or similar
- Proven ability to generate revenue and close deals
You are:
- Highly self-motivated and performance-driven
- Competitive in a way that drives results and personal excellence
- Comfortable leading client conversations and presentations
- Able to bring ideas, not just requests
You are not:
- An order-taker
- A pass-through salesperson
- Someone who waits for inbound work
HOW THIS ROLE IS STRUCTURED
We tailor backend support based on your strengths:
- Sales-focused → EVOKE handles production, fulfillment, and logistics
- Hybrid → Shared responsibility from sale through execution
Regardless of structure, you are accountable for:
- Strength of the opportunity
- Quality of the concept
- Closing the deal
COMPENSATION
- Base salary + uncapped commission
- Higher commission on self-sourced business
- Accelerators tied to revenue and margin growth
This is a high-earning potential role for someone who produces.
LOCATION REQUIREMENTS & MARKET EXPECTATIONS
This role may be based in Houston or in another major U.S. market with strong access to corporate decision-makers.
Preferred markets include:
- New York City
- Chicago
- Dallas
- Austin
- Los Angeles
- Atlanta
Candidates must:
- Be based in a high-opportunity market with a strong concentration of corporate offices and decision-makers
- Be comfortable building relationships in person through meetings, events, and networking
- Be within close proximity to a major airport for regular client travel
