Commercial Lines Assistant Account Manager

The Assistant Account Manager serves as a liaison between clients, carriers, and internal teams to ensure policies are accurately processed, maintained, and renewed while delivering a professional and responsive client experience.
Requirements
- Become knowledgeable in commercial property and casualty insurance products.
- Access, review, and maintain client accounts, policy documents, endorsements, and schedules.
- Process policy changes, cancellations, reinstatements, certificates, evidence of insurance, and simple endorsements (e.g., address changes, vehicle updates).
- Assist with new business and renewal workflows, including gathering underwriting information and preparing complete and accurate submissions.
- Track policy expiration dates and proactively support renewal efforts to ensure timely processing.
- Review issued policies for accuracy and identify discrepancies; coordinate corrections with carriers and internal team members.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding policy information, billing questions, coverage changes, and documentation requests.
- Identify opportunities for cross-sell or upsell and refer clients to appropriate sales team members when coverage needs change.
- Serve as a liaison between clients, carriers, and producers to resolve service issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate documentation and activity notes in the agency management system.
- Support Account Managers and Client Advisors with administrative and service-related tasks as needed.
- Consistently provide high-level customer service and contribute to strong client retention.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of property and casualty insurance principles.
- Strong customer service orientation with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-volume or deadline-driven situations.
- Proficiency with agency management systems and database software.
- PC proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to explain insurance concepts in a clear and client-friendly manner.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to support team members.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in insurance, customer service, or an agency support role preferred.
- 1–3 years of personal and/or commercial lines experience preferred.
- Property & Casualty insurance license preferred but not required.
- AMS360 experience strongly preferred.
