Pay: 21-25 /hr depending on years of experience
Hours: Monday-Friday, normal business hours
Experience Required
- Manage follow-up claim queues for assigned clients and organize daily workload accordingly.
- Follow-up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timelines using payer websites or by calling the payer.
- Research and appeal denied claims with insurance and government payers. Effectively communicate status of claims by utilizing practice management software to track claim status and notes.
- Respond to account manager inquiries regarding claim follow-up status, appropriately documenting all actions taken for client review.
- Support patient service representatives by occasionally providing backup phone coverage for incoming patient calls.
- Organize and manage workload efficiently, effectively, and independently.
- Two-to-four years established success in an insurance follow up role.
- Healthcare industry background, laboratory environment preferred.
- An understanding of CPT and diagnosis (ICD-10) codes.
- Certified coding background, certification, or relevant experience preferred.
- Knowledge of payer websites with ability to expertly maneuver the various sites.
- Experience with practice management software, Allscripts products preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Attention to detail.
- Integrity and honesty above reproach.
- Able to thrive in a small, informally structured, fast-paced, entrepreneurial group.
